    Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP):

    + The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will screen, examine and evaluate residents, including history, systems review, applications of appropriate tests and measures and interprets findings in order to establish a diagnosis, identify impairments, determine the predicted level of improvement and time required to achieve it, identify precautions and design a plan of care.

    + Develops appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the resident and caregivers, implements the treatment plan and completes all related documentation required for those services.

    + Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will attend and contributes to resident care, staff conferences and other related meetings.

    + Consults with and makes referrals to other disciplines, agencies in order to address the comprehensive needs of the resident.

    + Provide exception customer service: ensures that resident and families receive the highest quality of service in caring and compassionate environment.

    + Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for Clinical Programming.

    + Responsible for maintaining efficiency standards.

    Requirements of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP):

    + Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathologist from an accredited college or university.

    + Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in this state

    + Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a therapist capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.

    + Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.

    Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
    · Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
    · CPR Certification renewal every 2 years
    · 1-3 years experience in medical/surgical or rehab setting preferred
    · IV proficient preferred

    RN Responsibilities Include:

    + Execution of physician’s prescribed plan of care and compliant documentation of care in system of record.

    + Administration of prescribed medication, treatments, and therapies.

    + Patient assessments and coordination of care.

    + Health, promotion, teaching, and training of family members.

    RN Requirements for Success

    + Must have eligible good-standing license (RN) for the state in which the clinician will practice.

    + Current CPR certification
