Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with physician continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Assesses procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met. Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. Monitors and records patients condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.

The ideal LPN for this position will prioritize teamwork with a pointed patient-first focus. Strong communication and flexibility will allow the LPN to be successful with this team. This is a 20-bed mixed-acuity unit where nurses care for patients undergoing treatment for multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, renal/liver failure, acid-base and electrolyte imbalances, diabetes mellitus, and substance use disorder.

Preferred experience includes GN and/or RN license, professional nursing certification and ACLS.

Position Description: RN

Nurse Practitioner ( NP ) or Physician Assistant ( PA-C ) requirements and Skillsets: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) must have and meet the following qualifications: hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license for the duration of your employment. Physician Assistants must hold an active NCCPA certification and remain certified during the duration of their employment. Have a master-s degree or successfully completed an approved Physician Assistant Program. Have an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Job Summary:

+ Review pertinent medical history documentation and provide veterans with one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams.

+ The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will capture responses during the exam through web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.

+ Standard exams include - musculoskeletal, cardio, and respiratory.

+ Ancillaries (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered and will be conducted on location or nearby.
