    The Peri-anesthesia Unit is made of tree departments; Preop, PACU and phase 2. In Preop we admit patients for surgery with detail given to current health status. A senior LPN is responsible for selecting and completing 2 contributions annually that will assist in improving patient care OR must have and maintain a UPMC approved certification and also select and complete 1 contribution.     **Responsibilities:**

    What you will be doing?

    The Nurse is responsible for promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for clients all clients of BriteLife Recovery. At BriteLife Recovery, we offer a unique opportunity for nurses to maintain their therapeutic relationships with their patients without the chaos and unsafe staffing ratios that are common in the hospital setting. There are no bedpans, IVs, or bed alarms and all clients perform their own ADLs.

    What tasks are required?

    + Assists clinical team with the Admissions process;

    + Administers medications, treatments and procedures according to standard nursing practices and applicable facility policies;

    + Obtains and documents reason for visit, patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respirations, pulse and BMI.

    + Assists providers with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.

    + Assists in the management of patient utilization of health care system and provides patient education relative to health care needs, use of community resources and responsibilities of membership in managed care.

    + For HBO: Performs the following testing and treatments: transcutaneous oxygen monitoring testing as ordered and per appropriate policies and procedures; blood glucose monitoring as ordered and indicated by patient diagnosis; and hyperbaric treatments per the patient's treatment plan. Monitors patient during hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

    + For HBO: Educates patient and/or patient's family as to the benefits, risks, contraindications, and safety issues of hyperbaric oxygen therapy prior to treatment.

    + For HBO: Evaluates the patient outcome and meets with the manager and the hyperbaric physician to discuss patient treatment and adjust treatment as necessary.
