Job Summary

Performs a variety of healthcare environmental services (EVS) duties to enhance the healthcare environment by maintaining the location assigned. Follows special healthcare cleaning and trash handling techniques as required, ensuring professional and appropriate service standards while performing the job. Ensures the very best patient/family/ customer experience by optimizing all customer interactions.

Job Duties

+ ​Cleans and disinfects patient and non-patient facing areas, departments and spaces.

+ Handles various waste streams to include but not limited to; municipal waste and recyclable waste.

+ Wears standard personal protective equipment as required.

+ Follows procedures for the proper use of hospital approved products utilized in the cleaning and disinfection processes.

+ Places the appropriate signage in an area to indicate cleaning is occurring and floor is wet to reduce the risk of falls.

+ Reports identified facility repairs as directed or observed, according to current established policy or procedure.

+ Utilizes mobile technology to ensure compliance with bed management procedures and other environmental services functions that are performed daily.

+ Performs detailed cleaning to include but not limited to; high dusting, walls, ceilings, tracks, vents and lights.

+ Collects soiled linen and transports to hospital staging area for vendor pickup as applicable.

+ All EVS Staff who enter Medication Rooms (Where Applicable) must receive mandatory education on proper Medication Room protocol.

General Job Description:

Field Service Technicians provide on-site technical, electrical and programming, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic support to customers in North America. In addition to field service, the technician may be involved heavily in the machine build process. Travel for this position 60% - 70%. The technician must be proficient in using measuring devices, multi-meters, laser levels, hand tools and other troubleshooting tools. The position also requires independent logical thinking, willingness to be a team player, work efficiently with little or no supervision and strong communications skills. Provides the internal support to Helpdesk Technician II and Helpdesk Leads. Technician is the first to speak with the customer on any electrical, programming, and mechanical service call via phone and or email.

• Typical field hours are typically between 7am-530pm but may vary depending on job. Travel hours due to flight availability can vary outside the times previously mentioned.

• Field Service techs typically work between 45-55hrs/wk and OT rate at time and a half is paid when over 40hrs worked in the week.

• Some weekends may be required throughout the year.

• Typical travel for Field Service Techs is 70%.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 2 year technology or electronics degree

• 3 - 5 years of experience with automated machinery

The Lube and Tire Technician at Monro or General Service Tech as we call it, is an entry level Automotive Technician position and a great way to start your career at Monro. Under the supervision of the Maintenance and Utilities management, or a designated lead, installs and maintains all piping and plumbing in the facility. Pipefitters will perform maintenance on any equipment or facilities which their skills support in a compliant manner. Pipefitters are part of the Mechanical Technician work group and will primarily share work assignments within their job grouping with no inherent or “system imposed” limits. Based on business needs, Mechanical Technicians will perform maintenance activities including crossing between job groupings where skills are common. Work assignments, buildings, and equipment are not exclusive to any craft, job grouping, or employee in the M&U departments. Position may include some responsibility for maintaining significant business systems (e.g. CMMS data, planning, procurement and scheduling) including the authority to assign, coordinate and maintain work for others.

**EQUIPMENT:** Including but not limited to

+ Miscellaneous hand and power operated tools for pipe cutting, pipe grooving, threading and turning, power driven pipe cutting and threading machines, oxyacetylene equipment (for uses exclusive of welding or cutting), LPG torches, pipe clean out machine, etc.

+ Test equipment for steam, potable water, fire protection, etc. Drill press and miscellaneous shop equipment, acid treating equipment.

**DUTIES:** Including but not limited to

+ Working from blueprints, drawings, sketches, CMMS driven work orders, or other instructions.

+ Reference manufacturer’s equipment manuals.

+ Installs, lays out, bends, cuts, threads and joins pipe and fitting that will withstand steam, gas, hydraulic, vacuum, water or air pressure, or process materials.

+ Installs and maintains drainage, waste and vent systems.

+ Handles and installs pipes of various materials such as but not limited to: stainless steel, glass, iron, steel, aluminum, synthetic materials, PVC or similar, copper, etc. Cuts access holes to install pipe through floors and walls, using suitable tools.

+ Fabricates and fits pipe hangers and supports to walls and ceilings, etc. Acid clean coils, equipment and pressure vessels, as instructed.

+ Visually inspects pressure and vacuum gauges, recommends repair and performs work as necessary or directed.

+ Maintains restroom facilities including handicapped fixtures with appurtenances and washroom fixtures in first-class operational condition.

+ Installs temporary insulation where needed upon the completion of repairs to piping.

+ Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs, or replaces pipes, pipelines, filters, steam traps, strainers, valves, etc.

+ Installs and replaces safety valves, relief valves, rupture discs, pressure regulators, conservation vents, flame arrestors, etc.

+ Tests equipment and piping for pressure and leaks.

+ Attend and actively participates in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, Kaizen events, or any other operations, lean six-sigma, quality, safety or environmental training/initiatives, as required.

+ Prepares and assists technicians, supervisors and planners in preparing labor and material estimates.

+ May assist supervision with the assigning, scheduling and prioritization of work order requests using the CMMS.

+ Makes recommendations and prepares orders for spare parts, additional stock room items, tools, etc.

+ Consults with Supervision and other mechanics on problem resolution/troubleshooting.

+ Keeps Supervision informed of problem issues. Write, execute, and complete safety permits.

1. Completion of a formal pipefitter/plumber apprentice program, including four (4) years of recent (within the last 10 years) on-the-job training, that is approved by the United States Department of Labor or equivalent. A good working knowledge of various types of valves (examples include relief valves, diaphragm valves, ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, control valves), valve operators/actuators, steam traps, pipe fabrication (threaded/socket weld/butt weld), pipe hangers/supports, pipe stress relieving and aligning, and P&ID reading. 2. Graduate of a recognized pipefitter/plumber trade school with subjects that include math, power tools and hand tools, blueprint reading, plumbing and various industrial piping systems (steam, gas air potable water, fire protection, process materials, etc.). Three (3) years of recent (within the last 10 years) experience as an industrial or military pipefitter/plumber. Experience must include installing and repairing a broad range of industrial piping systems (steam, gas, air, potable water, fire protection, process materials, etc.). A good working knowledge of various types of valves (examples include relief valves, diaphragm valves, ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, control valves), valve operators/actuators, steam traps, pipe fabrication (threaded/socket weld/butt weld), pipe hangers/supports, pipe stress relieving and aligning, and P&ID reading. Ability to troubleshoot complex problems.

**OR**

3. Verified Military training equivalent to a recognized/accredited trade school or journeyman apprenticeship program. With a minimum three (3) years recent (within the last 10 years) experience as an industrial or military pipefitter/plumber. Experience must include installing and repairing a broad range of industrial piping systems (steam, gas, air, potable water, fire protection, process materials, etc.). A good working knowledge of various types of valves (examples include relief valves, diaphragm valves, ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, control valves), valve operators/actuators, steam traps, pipe fabrication (threaded/socket weld/butt weld), pipe hangers/supports, pipe stress relieving and aligning, and P&ID reading. Ability to troubleshoot complex problems.

**OR**

4. Successful completion of the NCCER Pipefitter assessment. With a minimum seven (7) years recent (within the last 10 years) experience as an industrial or military pipefitter/plumber. Experience must include installing and repairing a broad range of industrial piping systems (steam, gas, air, potable water, fire protection, process materials, etc.). A good working knowledge of various types of valves (examples include relief valves, diaphragm valves, ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, control valves), valve operators/actuators, steam traps, pipe fabrication (threaded/socket weld/butt weld), pipe hangers/supports, pipe stress relieving and aligning, and P&ID reading. Ability to troubleshoot complex problems.

5. No formal education. With a minimum ten (10) years recent (within the last 15 years) experience as an industrial or military pipefitter/plumber. Experience must include installing and repairing a broad range of industrial piping systems (steam, gas, air, potable water, fire protection, process materials, etc.). Candidates will be responsible to assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.
