The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity available in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Operations Argon team for an **Associate Level Manufacturing Assembler** in our **Smithfield, PA** facility

Position Responsibilities:

+ Has substantial and thorough understanding of the job

+ Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations

+ Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity by following established practices and procedures.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

**This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.**

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):**

+ High School Diploma or GED required

+ Ability to read, understand, engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)

**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):**

+ 1 or more years of experience working with specialized tools (e.g., electrical and mechanical wire crimpers and strippers, wire routing tools, accessing computer files, multimeters)

+ Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, and engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data).

+ Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements. Participates in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and reproducibility requirements are met.

+ Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School Diploma/GED).

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for executing field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner. What You Will Be Doing:

* Troubleshoot electro-mechanical problems, installations, and perform scheduled / unscheduled repairs and maintenance on equipment on customer demand and need.
* Diagnose and repair forklifts and other equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.

This is not a warehouse position. This is also not an entry level position, prior experience is required.

The role of the Manual Assembler is to perform small parts assembly and wiring of cabinets and boxes. The assembler is responsible for the quality of their work. The assembler also has the flexibility to work in teams, small batch production, or flow lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• May be required to operate various hand tools and other equipment.

• Has the ability to read and understand production documentation and drawings.

• Understands basic electronics concepts and can follow wiring schematics.

• Performs hand assembly of Din Rail assemblies as required per the production drawing.

• Performs final assembly, electrical testing, and packaging of various assemblies

• Performs screening and separation of various parts

• Responsible for recording assembly time data and completion of all associated routing, quality inspections, and other related forms

• Performs miscellaneous assigned tasks

• Assist in other Production areas as needed

• Focus on increasing productivity in all activities

• Follow necessary PPE requirements, appropriate ISO specifications and company procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Must be willing to be cross trained in several assembly functions to meet constantly changing production requirements

• Must be willing to work overtime periods including weekends to meet production demands.

• Must be willing to be moved into various work centers in order to meet production requirements or where skills best serve department and company goals

• If required must pass an English literacy test or complete the necessary training and show improvement in English skills including, reading, writing, and comprehension within 180 days after accepting the position.

• Must pass an IPC 620 class

• Must be able to sit or stand for at least 4 hours

• Must be able to lift or move containers weighing up to a maximum of 50 pounds

• Attendance in accordance with company policies.

• Able to use pallet jack

• Able use portable staircase and climb to12 foot heights.

• Able to carry 20 pound / 3cubic feet boxes up and down portable staircase.

• Able to push 4-wheeled cart with 100 pound load.

Job Description:

**FLSA Status:** Non-exempt

**Summary** Under General supervision, work on the production line to build manufactured housing, as part of a team, and perform quality work at a fast moving and consistent manner.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

+ Performs all manual labor in the area to which assigned.

+ Keeps area neat and clean.

+ Read and use a tape measure

+ Read blue prints and orders

+ Communicate well with coworkers

+ Use hand tools, air tools, and electrical tools

**Competencies**

+ Must have a strong work ethic

+ Must have the ability to work quickly and methodically

+ Must understand safety procedures

+ Must have good teamwork skills

**Qualifications**

+ Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Previous experience in manufacturing/modular housing desired.

+ Install components as required by each workstation.

+ Cross train in workstations as required.

+ Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

+ Fill out any required documentation to support each process.

+ Lifting and climbing as required to perform tasks.

+ Have basic tools to perform assembly tasks.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):**

+ Common knowledge and use of basic hand tools.

+ Strong assembly skills

+ Must be able to read prints, instructions

+ Above average mechanical aptitude

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Hands-on attitude and ability

+ The ability to meet assembly deadlines

+ Able to wear personal protective equipment

+ Able to work overtime and/or including weekends as production schedules dictate

**Education and Experience:**

+ High School diploma or GED preferred.

+ Preferred minimum two (2) years of upfitting/vehicle assembly experience or related experience

**Working Conditions:**

+ Communicate respectfully with supervisors and fellow employees

+ Read and comprehend blueprints and tape measure

+ Requires various visual processing (i.e. near, far, depth, color)

+ Must be able to push and/or pull up to 40lbs

+ 80% standing, crouching, kneeling, bending, and reaching

+ Fine hand manipulation skills required to hold and use hand tools as required for tasks
