Position Summary

The Flash-Butt Welder is responsible for driving, operating, diagnosing, and maintaining a mobile electric flash-butt welding machine. Work includes driving a welding truck (CDL required) to and from work locations and setting the welding truck on the track.

Pay Range: $35 / hour

+ Will perform Intrack Welding functions.

+ Capable of performing job duties in a safe and professional manner.

+ Self-directed individual with the ability to supervise and lead a small group.

+ Responsible to report customer and production status in a professional and timely manner.

+ No prior welding experience is required.

+ Must have the ability to read precision instruments and gauges with a background in heavy mechanical/electrical machines and equipment.

+ Perform QA inspections as required.

+ Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs.

+ Candidate will set up and perform weld operations including moving jack stands into place prior to making welds, cleaning and removing ballast rocks in the work area, vehicle maintenance, and cleaning, truck movement while on track from work site to work site, grinding welds as needed.

+ Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

+ Required Skills and Qualifications

+ A valid class A driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

+ Must be 21 years or older

+ Basic computer skills.

+ Good verbal and written communication skills.

+ Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and customers.

+ Fill out and organize work reports

+ Must be able to travel 90% of time

+ Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to gain Class-A CDL with 90-day.

+ Ability to pass drug screening and background check. High School Diploma/GED required.

POSITION SUMMARY Provide a variety of routine and complex welding services in support of Gas Field Specialists, Inc. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES • Piping fit-ups of various piping systems and configurations. • Cuts/torches and welds metal surfaces or pipe using various types of welding equipment. • Provides quality welding on socket weld pipe joints from¼" O.D. to 2" IPS and butt weld pipe joints from 1-1/2" IPS to 42" IPS. • Welds processes will be performed on various materials in the shop as well as in the field. • Welds are performed on a wide variety of materials/ ferrous and non-ferrous utilizing an even wider range of welding processes, such as GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and FCAW (Flux cored Arc Welding). • Performs welding in all positions with 6010, 7018 and 8010 welding rods. • Performs welding of 12" branch tee with 6010, 7018 and 8010 welding rods. • Operates electric welding apparatus to fabricate metal objects. • Repairs broken or damaged metal objects as required in the maintenance and construction of high pressure natural gas pipeline facilities. • Fabricates complicated piping and assemblies, high pressure regular and meter hookups, and compressor station piping utilizing blueprints, plans, and specifications. • Welds pipelines and fabricate drips, meter runs, etc. • Operates various hand tools and associated shop equipment; prepare records and reports. • Makes minor repairs to equipment used in the performance of assigned duties, keeping the equipment in safe and proper working condition. • May direct other employees in the performance of assigned duties. • Performs other duties as required in higher or lower classifications. KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES • One (1) to two (2) years of experience using construction tools and equipment including air hammer, concrete saw, patent scaffolding, trench digging equipment, etc. • Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry. • Detail orientated with strong organizational skills. • Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry. • Ability to keep company proprietary information confidential. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and above average math skills. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work successfully with a wide variety of people at different levels within the organization. **Job Description**

BAE Systems is seeking experienced welders to support our vehicle fabrication on 2nd and 3rd shifts. Welders experienced with low or high carbon steel alloys, stainless steels, ferrous and non-ferrous materials such as titanium, aluminum plates, castings, forgings, or structural shapes are encouraged to apply.

Welders are responsible for the set-up and operation of handheld or machine guided welding equipment. Material joining or build up would be accomplished by utilizing positioners, fixtures, hand layout or any other means per the process documentation. The welding processes may include mig wire, dual shield, flux core, submerged arc, tig or stick electrode welding, carbon arc gouging, plasma arc gouging, and oxy-acetylene cutting. Welders will operate support equipment such as jib or overhead cranes, portable chippers, grinders, and various hand tools such as wrenches, brushes, lighters, scales, squares, weld gauges, etc. Welders Interact with Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, Weld Techs and Inspection personal that support the production process.

All employees will be required to pass a medical fit for duty examination including pulmonary function and vision screenings.

Selected candidates will be trained and certified to the applicable welding specifications.

Weld Candidate Testing:

+ Must be able to pass initial written test administered on-site to establish working comprehension of weld symbols, measurements, work instructions, etc.

Upon successful completion of written test, must be able to pass on-site, hands-on weld plate test.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**

+ 2-5 Years weld experience with a High School diploma or GED

+ 0-1 Years weld experience with a Trade School certificate or College degree

+ Proficiency in using personal computers or other data acquisition devices (i.e. bar-code)

+ Sufficient working experience utilizing the tools, equipment, machinery, and materials as noted in the job description.

**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**

Understanding of weld symbols and weld process specifications
