**Job Description**

We are currently seeking an experienced shipfitter to join our team. The shipfitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural components and systems on ships and marine vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipbuilding principles, be proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings, and possess excellent welding and metalworking skills.

The welder must be able to perform the qualified welds with a high degree of quality and efficiency on TTC products. TIG and GMAW short arc experience are required. Stainless steel experience a plus. - Train students primarily in carpentry/woodworking techniques (Joinery, Cabinetmaking, Millwork, Wood Fabrication/ Wood Manufacturing, etc) using hand tools and power tools, including CNC machines

+ Interprets blueprints, sketches, drawing, manuals or specifications with inputs from immediate supervisor to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of fabrication operation and set-up requirements.

+ Uses required tools, equipment, documentation and supplies required to complete required welding tasks.

+ Cuts, prepares and assists in the positioning, alignment and fitting of components.

+ Bolts, clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.

+ Repairs or reworks fabrications when necessary.

+ Follows all safety practices during assembly and production operations and ensures that work areas are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Successfully complete a plant-administered welding test.

+ Regular attendance is essential.

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.

**Tradesmen International** is immediately hiring skilled **Flat Welders** for projects located in and around **New Castle, PA.** This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to **$28/hour** based on experience & skill level. **Job Scope:**

+ Perform welding of metal parts using specified wire welding processes

+ Ensure welds are smooth, non-porous, & meet quality standards

+ Weld in all positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, & overhead

+ Operate forklifts & overhead cranes for material handling

+ Other tasks as assigned

**Requirements:**

+ 3+ Years of Experience in heavy plate/structural steel fabrication

+ Reliable Transportation & Attendance

+ Ability to lift 50+lbs

+ Hand Tools

+ Proper PPE
