**What do we want to know about you?**

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ This position requires accuracy and responsibility for many duties and must be performed without close supervision.

+ Training and/or experience using measuring equipment and reading of drawing is needed.

+ Minium 2-years’ experience in CNC operation and 2 years of conventional machining.

+ Working knowledge of cutting tools and materials.

**What will your typical day look like?**

+ Sets up, adjusts and operates standard and special types of machine tools.

+ Performs varied machining operations largely on standard work having close tolerance and finish specifications.

+ Capable of performing edits to CNC programs.

+ Capable of measuring parts utilizing micrometers, calipers, depth gages, height gage, etc.

+ Have the ability to routinely lift up to 40 pounds

+ Be able to stand for extended periods

+ Basic reaching, crouching, bending

The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. **Job Overview**

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

This position will be working first shift, 5:30 A.M.- 4:00 P.M. , 4—10 hour shifts Monday thru Thursday.

+ Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models

YourPrimaryResponsibilities in Elevating our Operations & People Experiences:

**Job Description**

Inspect, service, repair and maintain diesel locomotives.

**Primary Responsibilities**

+ Perform daily and periodic inspections, servicing, and maintenance on diesel-electric locomotives, including but not limited to performing scheduled and preventative maintenance as determined by company policy and federal regulation.

+ Fueling, checking, and changing oil and liquid levels; changing filters for engine air, air compressor, fuel, and lube oil.

+ Replacing and maintaining engine components, traction motors, generators, air compressors, wheels, and truck components.

+ Troubleshoot and diagnose diesel engine malfunctions and make required repairs.

+ Performs disassembly, repair, replacement, rebuild, re-assembly, installation, adjustment, alignment, and lubrication activities on mechanical equipment.

**Responsibilities**

+ Must be proficient in using a CNC Lathe.

+ Perform primarily milling operations on state-or-the art Computer Numerical Controlled high speed milling machines, to include set up and operation of milling machine.

+ Fabricate parts and complete items of equipment from raw stock of different kinds of metals, metal alloys, and other materials and performs machining work required in the fabrication of castings, forgings, weldments and other fabrications

+ Carries out assignments which require special adaption and extensions of the use of conventional machine tools and the use of specialized and nonconventional machine tools such as jig borers, jig grinders, hobbing machines, hob grinders, gear generators, computer numerically controlled (CNC) and numerically controlled (NC) machine tools.

+ Independently plans and lays out work, sets up and operates machine tools, and performs bench and assembly work.

+ Exhibits safe work practices in all areas and with all equipment.

+ Exceeds or meets all established time standards and production schedules.

+ Properly corrects any deficiencies from same. Informs shop leads, or supervisor in a timely manner of any impedance to assigned tasks.

**Qualifications**
