**A Snapshot of Your Day**

Daily shift toolbox meeting, covering safety, quality, general announcements, and distribution of work. Perform machining repairs on steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and other related equipment. Work alongside a team of mechanics, machinists, weld technicians, inspectors, engineers and project managers to repair critical turbomachinery equipment. Customers include oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, universities and hospitals. Work daily under direct guidance from experienced shop leadman and supervisor.

**How You’ll Make an Impact**

+ Plan, layout and perform all machine operations on both conventional and CNC machines to construct, alter, repair and finish a variety of parts, while maintaining close tolerances.

+ Produce parts from past prints, samples, sketches or drawings and check work, using standard and/or special gauging devices to assure conformity and to maintain quality standards.

+ Proficiently use precision measurement tools such as ID and OD micrometers, gauges, calipers, and dial indicators.

+ Deburr, file, grind, chip, and fit parts made from cast iron, cast steel, malleable iron, nodular iron, sheet and bar steel. Remove burrs, fins and sharp edges using belt sanders, electric bench grinders, air operator rotary files, and hand files.

+ It is expected that employees will demonstrate their capability and willingness to learn and operate all departmental equipment and machines in assigned area, including but not limited to engine lathes, vertical turret lathes, milling machines, horizontal boring mills.

+ Use hand-held tablet devices to record inspection findings, dimensional data and measurements, and photographs

**What You Bring**

+ High School Diploma or GED that can be verified is required

+ Minimum three (3) years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment; Minimum three (3) years experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts; and Minimum three (3) years experience in rigging with straps, chains, chain-falls, swivel eyes, etc. is required

+ Proven ability to interpret shop instructions and manufacturing drawings and proven ability to read scales, micrometers is required.

+ Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned tasks with limited supervision; have a teachable attitude, be willing to learn and receive instruction; and be a great teammate

+ Be able to accept constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement; Must have a strong work ethic, be dependable, arrive at work promptly on time every day, and communicate proactively when emergencies happen.

+ Willingness to work overtime as needed (weekends and holidays may be occasionally required based on client schedules)

You will be a CNC Machine Operator with our team in Archbald, PA\. Lockheed Martin's Archbald facility specializes in design, manufacturing, and engineering for both domestic and international customers\. It produces electronic assemblies, machined and welded assemblies/parts, and safety\-critical systems for various defense and commercial applications\. The site is renowned for its awards and contributions to missile systems, nuclear instrumentation, and control products\.

**What You Will Be Doing**

We are seeking an CNC Machine Operator to support our team\. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Follows instructions to machine, fabricate, or assemble parts to print and operation sheet specifications using conventional and CNC machines including lathes, horizontal and vertical machining centers

• Pre\-sets and installs proper cutting tools select proper speeds, feeds, and depth of cut where applicable to maintain the proper quantity and quality standards

• Inspects cutting tools for wear to ensure the quality of parts and makes adjustments during production run as required

• Interprets CAD data, prints and sketches with regard to fabrication and follows written and/or verbal instructions

• Performs secondary operations during the machine cycle such as deburring and straightening

• Inspects parts as they are produced using standard gages, micrometers, indicators, vernier calipers, depth gages, and other measuring devices, to ensure conformity to specifications

• Performs minor preventive maintenance to equipment and maintains coolant levels to ensure a steady supply of coolant/cutting fluids to the machine

• Receives and, when assigned, provides cross\-training for other tasks related to department functions and procedures

• Recommends and executes changes to achieve process improvements and/or cycle time reductions

• Selects and loads proper CNC program in machine control to insure proper operation of the machine

• Verifies gages and inspection equipment required are correct and appropriate for the task

• Verifies NC code during execution of setup and edits CNC programs

Summary:

We are currently looking for a Machinist for our manufacturing facility in Washington, Pennsylvania. Our Machinists are part of a highly skilled team that is critical to ensuring large industrial equipment and systems are fully operational for continuous production and to consistently meet production goals.

As a Machinist, you will be responsible for reviewing samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output. Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job. Select appropriate machines to complete job. And preform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.

In order to become successful, youll have to quickly learn ATI, our manufacturing equipment/systems, and our maintenance program. A successful Machinist is a problem-solver and strong with troubleshooting, determining corrective actions, and identifying opportunities to enhance production efficiencies without compromising quality. Workplace safety is a core value and Maintenance Technicians play a vital role in our safe operation and processes.

Essential Functions:

+ Should have a working knowledge using metal lathe, milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, metal break and metal shear, plasma cutting, metal forming, welders, acetylene torches, blanchard grinding and metal cutting saws.

+ Install, maintain, repair, and replace industrial machinery, work tools, and equipment.

+ Preform both uptime and down time preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule.

+ Follow all safety practices and rules to ensure equipment is operating in a safe manner

+ Maintain accurate records of projects including machine assembly, start up and installation

+ Participate in daily meetings, prioritizing and reviewing the daily schedule of work

Position Summary

The CNC Machinist Trainee sets up and operates conventional, special purpose and CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.

What will your day look like? At Aerotech, you will

+ Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements

+ Set-up, operate, edit and program CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts

+ Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders

+ Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media

In addition to our Pennsylvania operations, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, and Korea. The Company also maintains sales offices throughout the world. Our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.

**Job Description**

**Basic Function**

With minimal supervision, performs a wide variety of duties to support the Engineering Model Shop. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both manual and CNC machining. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of machining processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to program CNC machines efficiently. This candidate should also have applicable knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, layout techniques and familiarity with machining various materials.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Perform machining of engineering prototypes to support development programs.

+ Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.

+ May be assisted by engineering personnel in developing unique parts/fixtures.

+ Make recommendations for design enhancements or improvements to support design for manufacturability optimization.

+ Operate with latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions.

+ Reviews progress with management.

+ Ability to make parts from analyzing drawings, sketches, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work-pieces.

+ Selects, aligns, secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, etc.

+ Utilize EZ Trak on the Bridgeport milling machine.

+ Utilize Haas CNC Lathe and Mill; writing G-code and using IPS.

+ Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using precise measuring equipment. (comparator, calipers, micrometers)

+ Support manufacturing, as required, for fixtures, tooling or small quantity parts.

+ Responsible for machine shop tooling maintenance on a regular basis.
