    **A Snapshot of Your Day**

    Daily shift toolbox meeting, covering safety, quality, general announcements, and distribution of work. Perform machining repairs on steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and other related equipment. Work alongside a team of mechanics, machinists, weld technicians, inspectors, engineers and project managers to repair critical turbomachinery equipment. Customers include oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, universities and hospitals. Work daily under direct guidance from experienced shop leadman and supervisor.

    **How You’ll Make an Impact**

    + Plan, layout and perform all machine operations on both conventional and CNC machines to construct, alter, repair and finish a variety of parts, while maintaining close tolerances.

    + Produce parts from past prints, samples, sketches or drawings and check work, using standard and/or special gauging devices to assure conformity and to maintain quality standards.

    + Proficiently use precision measurement tools such as ID and OD micrometers, gauges, calipers, and dial indicators.

    + Deburr, file, grind, chip, and fit parts made from cast iron, cast steel, malleable iron, nodular iron, sheet and bar steel. Remove burrs, fins and sharp edges using belt sanders, electric bench grinders, air operator rotary files, and hand files.

    + It is expected that employees will demonstrate their capability and willingness to learn and operate all departmental equipment and machines in assigned area, including but not limited to engine lathes, vertical turret lathes, milling machines, horizontal boring mills.

    + Use hand-held tablet devices to record inspection findings, dimensional data and measurements, and photographs

    **What You Bring**

    + High School Diploma or GED that can be verified is required

    + Minimum three (3) years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment; Minimum three (3) years experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts; and Minimum three (3) years experience in rigging with straps, chains, chain-falls, swivel eyes, etc. is required

    + Proven ability to interpret shop instructions and manufacturing drawings and proven ability to read scales, micrometers is required.

    + Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned tasks with limited supervision; have a teachable attitude, be willing to learn and receive instruction; and be a great teammate
