**CNC Machinist II**

**Position Summary**

The CNC Machinist II produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet‘s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

**Principle Responsibilities**

+ Operate and Set-up CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and in accordance with machine programs and engineering drawings.

+ Perform difficult CNC Machinist work including progressive machining of a variety of parts and different metals where very close tolerances must be maintained.

+ Change dull tooling, and/or make minor offsets and adjustments as needed for tooling wear.

+ Ensure product quality is achieved by working to operator owned quality (OOQ) standards and requirements including using a range of measuring equipment and interpreting readings.

+ Perform routine maintenance as per daily machine checklist and adhere to PM schedule.

+ Perform hand finishing.

+ Always Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP) including completion of job routers/ cards.

+ Ensure safe working practices are carried out to minimize risks to the job holder and/or colleagues, including identifying and reporting Safety, Health & Environmental issues.

+ Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways of improving productivity.

+ Record all activities in a timely manner on the job tracking system.

+ Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities.

+ Identify and escalate manufacturing issues to the Team Leader and/or Supervisor, participating in the resolution as required.

+ Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards within work area.

+ 3+ years CNC Machining experience.

**CNC Machinist III**

**Position Summary**

The CNC Machinist III produces machined parts by operating, setting up computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. May be required to perform some programming. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

**Principle Responsibilities**

+ Operate, set up, and could program CNC mills, Wire EDM's, and CNC lathes within specified tolerances following work instructions and in accordance with machine programs and engineering drawings

+ Propose new production Set ups and change offsets/tooling in machines as part of the new setup

+ Perform difficult CNC Machinist work including progressive machining of a variety of parts and different metals where very close tolerances must be maintained

+ Read and evaluate blueprints or specifications

+ Troubleshoot and understand CNC programs and processes

+ Improve and produce work Instructions

+ Assist Engineering with redesigning fixtures to increase quality standards and productivity, change dull tooling, and/or make minor offsets and adjustments as needed for tooling wear

+ Ensure product quality is achieved by working to operator owned quality (OOQ) standards and requirements including using a range of measuring equipment and interpreting readings

+ Propose adjusted speeds and feeds for different machining requirements

+ Perform routine maintenance as per daily machine checklist and adhere to PM schedule

**Overview**

**Job Title: Machinist**

**Job Location: Williamsport, PA**

Under limited supervision, sets up and operates all machine shop related machines, tools and equipment. Works from prints or sketches and performs all necessary operations using mathematics, machinery, hand tools and measuring instruments.

**Responsibilities**

+ Consistently follows all shop safety protocols and regulations.

+ Conceives and fabricates necessary tooling required for parts manufactured.

+ May perform raw stock order filling using horizontal and vertical band saws, abrasive cut-off machines, shears, and hand tools.

+ Competently and safely uses the hoists within the department.

+ Responsible for keeping cutting equipment operable by changing cut-off abrasive wheels, band saw blades, etc.

+ Responsible for maintenance and repair of jibs and fixtures.

+ Responsible for reworking complete tube assemblies and other products.

+ Responsible for determining speeds and feeds as well as tooling and cutting characteristics for any and all materials.

+ Train other Production Machinists at or below job grade.

+ Maintain tolerances using dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment.

+ Troubleshoot defective jobs using assembly prints and repair jigs when necessary.

+ Perform duties in accordance with Facilities Workmanship Standards and Aid Manual.

+ Sets up and operates CNC machines turning and milling centers.

+ Generates CAM programs and tool lists.

+ Communicate any known operation process irregularities to supervisor or other appropriate personnel.

The CNC Mill Machinist produces finished parts and surfaces to specification from sheets of raw material including, but not limited to, wood, plastic, and aluminium by utilizing various brands of CNC routers.This position requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment that has changing demands throughout the course of the shift, so flexibility is essential.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams with limited assistance from others in department.

+ Identify, locate, and build all required tooling for production.

+ Set up CNC routers based upon input from programmers and others within department.

+ Evaluate the quality of materials, parts, and equipment before the manufacturing process is started. Report any concerns to management before continuing with project.

+ Transfer sheet goods onto in-feed tables, router tables, and out-feed tables.

+ Operate assigned machines based upon predetermined input by CNC programmers and/or higher-level machinists.

+ Load and unload machine tools once setup has been proven out.

+ Perform tool offsets.

+ Perform post processing work during CNC cycle time.

+ Utilize ERP for tracking purposes.

+ Conduct quality check at assignment completion. Report any concerns to management.

+ Delivered finished parts to designated areas.

+ Monitor tools for breakage and tool wear symptoms.

+ Perform basic/routine tool and machine maintenance.

+ Perform tasks to company standards to efficiently and effectively meet department goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ High School Diploma or GED, trade school graduate

+ 0-3 years of practical experience in machining, mechanics, construction or manufacturing

+ Basic Knowledge of G-code and M-code

+ Basic level knowledge and experience of CNC routers

+ Mechanical aptitude

+ Math Proficiency

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams

+ Knowledge and experience using precision measuring instruments a plus.

+ Experience using MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook) a plus.

+ Knowledge of Epicor, Slack and or Box

You will be working from blueprints to machine critical components for the Nuclear/Oil and Gas industry. You will manufacture and inspect detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (lathes, mills, and other machining equipment) and using mathematical and geometrical calculations. You will also determine how to set up machines based on instructions received and perform minor repairs of equipment.

**Your Challenge**

+ Performs routine and semi-routine assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment.

+ Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.

+ Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances and may identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.

+ Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards and to maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.

+ Prove out CNC programs when required.

Under limited supervision, sets up and operates all machine shop related machines, tools and equipment. Works from prints or sketches and performs all necessary operations using mathematics, machinery, hand tools and measuring instruments.

**Responsibilities**

+ Consistently follows all shop safety protocols and regulations.

+ Conceives and fabricates necessary tooling required for parts manufactured.

+ May perform raw stock order filling using horizontal and vertical band saws, abrasive cut-off machines, shears, and hand tools.

+ Competently and safely uses the hoists within the department.

+ Responsible for keeping cutting equipment operable by changing cut-off abrasive wheels, band saw blades, etc.

+ Responsible for maintenance and repair of jibs and fixtures.

+ Responsible for reworking complete tube assemblies and other products.

+ Responsible for determining speeds and feeds as well as tooling and cutting characteristics for any and all materials.

+ Train other Production Machinists at or below job grade.

+ Maintain tolerances using dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment.

+ Troubleshoot defective jobs using assembly prints and repair jigs when necessary.

+ Perform duties in accordance with Facilities Workmanship Standards and Aid Manual.
