    + Assistin the development, communication, and training of the company's Risk Management Framework, including BCM.

    + Contribute to the maturation of the company's Process, Risk and Control (PRC) library and Risk Register, and evaluate accuracy and completeness of Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA)

    Duties include preparing detailed credit write-ups for presentation to LEAF Credit Committee and M&T Bank Deputy Credit Officer. These transactions include the review of complex borrower’s financial statements (many times via 10K and 10Q reports) and/or tax returns that require the use of financial spreadsheets and an ability to properly analyze financial condition/cash flow. Additional duties include recommending risk ratings based on the utilization of the bank’s PD/LGD scorecard; and gathering information from many sources including information on vendors, the vendor’s relationship with the borrower/origination source and assessing vendor quality. As an experienced analyst, the Senior Credit Analyst will have the ability to independently write detailed credit memos and take part in credit discussions with senior management.

    **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

    • Advanced business credit skills with exceptional working knowledge of commercial credit analysis and complex business cash flow cycles as applicable to complex large ticket transactions.

    • Thorough understanding of the following critical analysis-related factors: complex transaction and capital structures; complex organizational structures; most forms and constructs of loan documentation; advanced accounting and applied finance; most major industry and business operating models and applicable analysis approaches; and collateral types and collateral assessment methodologies.

    • Able to quickly and accurately assess large ticket opportunities to determine if sufficient information has been provided and compile list of questions/additional information needed.

    • Specialty lending underwriting experience to include hospitals, non-profits, commercial real estate, contractors, etc.

    • Demonstrated ability to accurately prepare spreads (long-form) for complex large-ticket requests, including the debt service overview worksheet reflecting debt service coverage on existing and proposed debt.

    • Strong understanding of Public Debt Ratings and their significance in the underwriting process. Able to proficiently navigate Moody’s, S&P, and Fitch ratings databases to obtain the relevant ratings.

    • Ensure adherence to LEAF credit policy, M&T bank policies and government regulations

    • Facilitate customer calls as needed to discuss financing needs; and ensure a solid understanding of Obligor’s financial performance and business operations.

    • Exceptional understanding of the nuances of public companies and related concepts.

    • Ability to accurately and efficiently review 10-k’s and 10-Q’s to extract the pertinent information needed to support credit recommendations.

    • Solid understanding of the U.S. stock markets and related economic concepts as they pertain to obligors, vendors and overall industry.

    • Work with LEAF Sales Team to structure loans/leases to meet client expectations, while also managing LEAF’s risk exposure.

    • Demonstrates strong understanding of financial regulatory environment as it applies to underwriting most forms of commercial credit transactions.

    • Ability to assist in the management of the department in the Manager’s absence.

    **EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS**

    • BA/BS Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting.

    • Formal credit training preferred.

    • 7-10+ years of related experience preferred.

    • Leasing industry experience a plus.

    • Good working knowledge of other departments such as Sales, Funding and Collections, and the interaction with the Credit Department.

    • Good working knowledge of credit and underwriting principles and procedures as well as business concepts.

    • Complete knowledge and understanding of the LEAF’s credit policies and procedures.

    • Excellent underwriting analysis and investment decision-making skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to make presentations to credit committee.

    • Ability to communicate with sales, origination sources, obligors account firm, banks, etc

    • Strong organization and attention to detail with sense of urgency.

    • Excellent ability to work independently but also as a team.

    • Ability to correctly recognize and refer all pertinent information to persons with higher credit authority.
