Job Title: Production Coordinator

Job Description

This position follows the progress of orders through the plant in accordance with requirements indicated on production schedules and documents progress for purposes of review at the Product Control meetings.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain progress of assigned orders through the plant according to production schedules.

+ Document progress on tracking sheets for review at Production Control meetings.

+ Direct delivery of materials from storerooms or other storage areas as required.

+ Expedite movement of components between departments to ensure production schedules are maintained.

+ Interface with production supervisors and project engineers regarding special handling, material availability, and changes in promised dates.

+ Anticipate probable schedule delays and take action to avoid them.

+ Expedite materials, parts, tooling, and manufacturing software to maintain production schedules.

+ Coordinate and resolve shop work station loading conflicts and locate and move needed materials, parts, and tooling as required.

+ Maintain part serial numbers, NCM routing listings, and upgrade books for manufacturing and materials on assigned orders.

+ Expedite all departments as required to achieve on-time shop performance.

+ Handle a limited range of Document Control Library tasks.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or coordination

+ Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP)

+ Intermediate Excel skills (maintaining spreadsheets and data entry; no need for pivot tables or complex formulas)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency in production scheduling

+ Proficiency in production planning

+ Experience with Microsoft Excel

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility and involves both office work (60% of the time) and time on the production floor (40% of the time). The dress code is business casual (jeans are acceptable, closed-toe shoes required). Steel-toe shoes are required when on the production floor. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
