Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking a Processing Technician in the Central Receiving Unit of the Pathology department in a Per Diem capacity.
Summary: The Central Receiving Processor receives all specimens into the laboratory, verifying arrival and proper transport. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring and evaluating all necessary QC, QA and repair records required by accreditation agencies, and performing specimen processing in an efficient manner which assures a workflow and test turnaround time within in the established limits for stat and routine specimens.
Responsibilities: Follows established SOP for the ordering of biological specimens for analysis and evaluates and evaluates and solves problems related to that process.
Education or Equivalent Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience in hospital laboratory receiving area preferred. Laboratory training and experience in hospital setting preferred.
