About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Industrial Operations, Ground Equipment & Missile Systems Division, Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg PA. Responsibilities Make repairs or adjustments to a variety of electronic components. Make modifications and/or improvements to existing testing program. Apply automatic testing procedures to a range of electrical and electromechanical assemblies. Use technical manuals to perform inspection to electronic system. Identify malfunctions within automatic testing equipment. Operate a variety of testing equipment such as digital multimeters, power suppliers and reflectometers. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common duties in the operating of automated electronic testing equipment; identifying malfunctions in an automated testing system; repairing electronic components; AND using various testing tools such as digital multimeters, voltmeters or reflectometers. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey- level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools - Electronics Ingenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Theory of Electronics Trouble shooting (Electronic Equipment) Use of Test Equipment: Electronics PHYSICAL EFFORT Work requires constant standing and bending on hard surfaces and working with small components which requires close attention and good eye-hand coordination. May lift items weighing up to 40 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS Work area is well lighted, heated and ventilated. There is a possibility of cuts, bruises, scrapes and burns. There is significant hazard of electrical shock. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct deposit of pay is required.
