**Job Description**
Fully responsible for the designated geographical area as an Area Sales Manager, including staff management, sales achievement, local show budget management. Assists in creating and managing SSG business development plans (State of Industry, Sales Channel Strategy and strategic business approach for key products and services) under the direction of the National Sales Director and SSG Management Team. Creates individual sales target (numerical target, unit base target) for each staff in the territory.
**Job Duties**
Assume primary management responsibility for direct reports including SuccessFactors development and, together with the National Sales Director, create sales territories and targets.
Responsible for reviewing and approving all direct reports expense reports in Concur program. Ensure all reports are in compliance with current directives.
Responsible for area sales targets across assigned product lines and show marketing activities.
Perform weekly sales funnel reviews within the NetSuite environment.
Ensure 100% NetSuite compliance by direct reports; provide Manager with weekly area updates.
Maintain a current Competitor Personnel Matrix for assigned area.
Submit Monthly Area Sales Manager Reports.
Communicate area needs and solutions to National Sales Director.
Plan and execute product seminars in assigned district; participate and facilitate training.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with leading researchers in the territory to enhance the reputation of Olympus and grow market share.
Support sales representatives in advanced sales demonstrations.
Provide feedback and counselling to develop sales team skill set.
Address and resolve complex customer issues or complaints.
Maintain, manage and be accountable for area sample accounts for accuracy and appropriate product mix.
Develop Olympus specifications for bids.
Attend Quarterly Management Business Review Meetings/National Sales Meetings and Support Trade Shows as directed.
Plan, coordinate and conduct in-person quarterly area business review meetings with the sales team.
Take a lead role in the training of newly hired sales representatives and associates.
Other relevant job duties and projects as assigned.
**Job Requirements**
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or equivalent knowledge and experience required.
Minimum five (5) years’ sales experience in high end capital equipment required.
One (1) to three (3) years sales management experience preferred.
Planning and strong leadership skills for teams.
Ability to develop and strengthen strong selling and negotiating skills of direct reports.
Knowledge of Sales, Marketing and Finance function to fully operate the designated area.
Excellent verbal and written communication / interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Windows 10, Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams, and
PowerPoint.
