**What’s the Job?**

Utilizing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles and practices, the WCM Project Engineer II plays a crucial role in assisting and driving deployment of World Class Manufacturing and Engineering principles within the roofing products group. This position will have project responsibilities within the central WCM team. The primary focus of this role will be to actively facilitate effective data usage to identify opportunities and execute projects that will improve plant performance across the Roofing organization.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Project Planning & Execution:**

+ Assist the management of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives from conceptualization through deployment.

+ Support the development of detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.

+ Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement through smart technology integration.

**Technology Integration:**

+ Implement and integrate Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT sensors, robotics, machine learning, AI, augmented reality (AR), and digital twins in the manufacturing environment.

+ Ensure seamless integration of these technologies with existing machinery and equipment, collaborating with IT and engineering teams.

+ Drive the adoption of manufacturing execution systems (MES), predictive maintenance, and real-time data monitoring tools.

**Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement:**

+ Use data analytics to analyze real-time manufacturing data, identifying data integrity issues and/or inefficiencies and opportunities for process optimization.

+ Apply data-driven methodologies to recommend continuous improvements in productivity, quality, and resource management.

**Collaborative Work with Cross-functional Teams:**

+ Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless implementation of smart technologies.

+ Coordinate with IT teams to maintain data integrity, and system reliability.

+ Provide training and support to plant operators, technicians, and managers on new technologies and systems.

**Documentation & Reporting:**

+ Maintain accurate project documentation, including technical designs, system configurations, and project reports.

+ Present project updates and performance reports to management and stakeholders.

+ Provide technical documentation for training and operational purposes.

**Safety & Health:**

+ Is knowledgeable of and performs all work in accordance with CertainTeed health & safety rules and practices.

+ Continually drives safe behavior by performing Safety Based Observations and risk assessment when necessary.

**What you Bring?**

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering / science or equivalent experience (Industrial, Electrical, or similar, Computer Science, or related field.)

+ 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing environments, with exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies and practices.

+ Experience with Total Performance Management (TPM) methodologies and practices

+ Experience with automation, IoT, data analytics, and process optimization in a production setting.

+ Knowledge of smart manufacturing technologies such as IoT devices, PLCs, SCADA systems, AI, machine learning, and robotics. Ignition/Sepa Soft is a plus.

+ Understanding of data analysis tools and programming languages (Python, R, SQL).

+ Understanding of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA, etc.).

+ Experience with Ignition/Sepasoft MES, SAP-ERP, and CMMS systems.

+ Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.

+ Excellent project management and organizational skills.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
