The Shipping & Receiving Lead’s role is to assist the supervisor to ensure on-time movement of the facilities raw and finished goods from suppliers and to customers.

Primary Responsibilities:
· Assists the supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the shipping and receiving department including the assignment of employees to include various picking, packing, crating, counting, weighing, assembling, packaging and identification of items going in and out of the facility.
· Verify that delivered shipments meet work order specifications such as amount and type of materials and direct the movement of shipments to storage and/or work areas.
· Assists in the management of traffic operations and ensures optimized carrier scheduling.
· Assists in the management of all warehousing and finished goods traffic activities.
· Assists in the management of shipments to and from vendors and customers.
· Keep management informed of department progress/issues.
Qualifications
· Regular attendance is essential.
· Prior experience in the shipping and/or receiving department of a manufacturing facility.
· Detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
· Excellent project management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Prefer experience in PC Skills-Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook.
· Ability to communicate with all levels of employees/management.
· Must have the ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, newsletters, blueprints and shipping related documents.
· Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
· Must be forklift qualified and must have a valid driver’s license.
