**UPMC Passavant is hiring a Full Time (40 hours a week) Clinician to support our 6 Pavilion Med/Surg Oncology Unit.**
**RNs with over 1 year of experience are eligible for a $20,000 Sign On Bonus**
**About the Unit:**
**6 North Pavilion is a medical/surgical oncology unit. It has 30 beds, all private rooms. 80-90% of our patients are admitted due to some history of cancer or have had surgery due to cancer. We primarily deal with lung, liver and abdominal cancer but can see patients who are having issues related to any cancer diagnosis**
The Clinician is a nurse leader responsible for fostering a culture of excellence in patient care. They serve as a role model in professional nursing practice, manage staff performance, and provide education and clinical expertise. The Clinician may also deliver nursing care as needed.
Responsibilities:
+ Relationship Building: Develops positive relationships through mentoring and communication. Coaches on cultural diversity and addresses workplace issues.
+ Performance Improvement: Uses tools to enhance care quality and work environment. Shares improvements across units.
+ Mentorship: Supports the development of others through education and knowledge sharing. Acts as a preceptor for new nurses and mentors colleagues.
+ Patient Experience: Aligns with organizational goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction. Shares new knowledge through various platforms.
+ Clinical Expertise: Applies nursing knowledge to meet patient needs. Demonstrates critical thinking and effective communication.
+ Leadership: Identifies opportunities for improvement and leads change. Supports staff during transitions and participates in shared leadership. Assumes responsibilities in quality improvement and staff onboarding.
Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
Master's degree preferred.
BS/BSN required. If BS degree not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.
The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit as specified below.
Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.
Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.
Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.
**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state. National Certification preferred.CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Act 34
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
