  • Principal Product Manager - Flexible Platform: Work Objects & Notifications
    PagerDuty    Harrisburg, PA 17108
     Posted about 5 hours

PagerDuty empowers teams of all kinds to do the critical work that moves business forward through the PagerDuty Operations Cloud.

Visit our careers site (https://careers.pagerduty.com/home) to explore life at PagerDuty, discover opportunities, and sign-up for job alerts!

PagerDuty is seeking a **Principal Product Manager** ( **Flexible Platform)** to join our diverse, customer-focused team! As **Principal Product Manager** , you will help our customers better manage a variety of different types of real-time urgent work, not just in Software and IT Operations, but in a variety of other functions across the landscape of Digital Operations. You'll own two of our most critical building blocks, Flexible Work Objects, and Flexible Notifications, and play a key technical and product leadership role across several development teams working to define our strategy and roadmap. The Flexible Platform team is working closely with other product development teams internally who will leverage these building blocks to build new products as well as external customers and partners!

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with customers and partners to better understand their needs as it comes to platform flexibility and customizability; our larger, more sophisticated customers, in particular, are asking for a high level of customizability in terms of how they manage real-time work (such as work objects beyond PD's incidents) like post-mortems, tasks, customer cases, security events, and how these objects leverage other flexible platform building blocks like notifications, workflows, and automation actions!

The ideal candidate will bridge the world between API-first platform principles and understanding the burning problems of other product development teams and our external customers (and you have the metrics at your fingertips to back it up)! You're equally comfortable discussing the merits of an API structure and the business case for integration with a potential platform customer. You can rapidly learn 3rd-party applications and their platform concepts (ServiceNow, Atlassian, Salesforce, etc) and design a platform strategy that is feasible, usable, and maintainable.

    **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Define the roadmap for two of our core flexible platform building blocks: Work Objects and Notifications

+ Partner closely with engineering and design on new building block enhancements.

+ Prioritize feedback from 3rd-party developers, internal development teams, internal Professional Services, and partner teams.

+ Partner with other PD development teams to enable them on how to leverage platform building blocks and help make them successful.

+ Design the tools and content to seamlessly onboard development teams and customers onto the platform.

+ Support marketing with content and awareness for developers and internal stakeholders.

    **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

+ 6-10+ years of product management experience for a SaaS enterprise software company preferably with B2B applications and platform experience.

+ Strong knowledge of integration architecture, patterns and platforms, understanding of cross-application business processes and flows, and knowledge of API best practices

+ You have enough technical knowledge to be respected by engineers.

+ Ability to experiment with 3rd party APIs, designing APIs based on RESTful principles, and collaborating on integration solution design.

+ Ability to be self-driven in writing SQL queries to get access to make data-driven decisions.

+ Ability to effectively interface and communicate with customers and all stakeholders within the organization.

+ Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams that include engineering, product management, sales, and marketing staff.

+ Experience with Agile software methods or a desire to learn them; we don’t throw PRDs over the fence and hope for the best.

+ You strongly empathize with customers where your customers are other internal or external development teams. You can sit down with users and understand the ways that your product is not satisfying their needs.

+ You can lead without giving orders and argue a viewpoint persuasively.

+ You can write, speak, and think about complicated and highly technical problems with uncommon lucidity.

+ Proven record of product management accomplishments and initiatives with demonstrated success in product build and release to market.

    **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Bachelor's and/or Master's in Engineering, Computer Science, technical related field, or equivalent practical experience as a software engineer.

+ Software development experience is a big plus.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills along with strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Rapid, resourceful problem solver.

The base salary range for this position is 179,000 - 289,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Capital One    Philadelphia, PA 19133
     Posted 1 day

1735 Market St (16035), United States of America, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Senior Manager, Product Manager- Bank Modernization

**At Capital One, we believe great products begin with a deep understanding of our customers. From our earliest days, we pioneered the use of predictive modeling to individually personalize credit card offers, turning the entire industry on its head. As we’ve grown bigger, we’ve found more and more ways to use technology and face-to-face conversations to understand the human problems associated with money and finances.**

**In the Consumer Bank, we’ve combined this human-centered approach with our heritage of data-driven decision making to design, build and test our way to truly enabling financial experiences. We’ve challenged ourselves to spend less time planning, more time doing, and, above all else, to see the world through the eyes of our customers as they work to understand and manage their money.**

**Are you passionate about improving the way people interact with their money? Are you driven by the delight you bring to customers? Do you keep asking, “why,” until you hit the root? It’s common to fall in love with solutions, but have you ever fallen in love with the problem? Do you have an opinion on whether shipping is more important than perfection? Do you have a healthy dose of skepticism for the impossible? If you’re nodding your head, then we want you!**

**As a Product Manager focusing on Bank Modernization you will be reimagining our Consumer Bank to create game-changing customer experiences and business outcomes. You will build platforms and services that deliver real-time data at scale. As the leader for the Core Data Abstraction pod, your platforms will power real-time, intelligent capabilities and enable the Bank to ship products at devastating speed. We have a long journey ahead and are excited to bring on leaders to design & build our future.**

**On any given day in the Bank you’ll be:**

+ **Empowered. Part of a team driving the bank’s omni-channel servicing portfolio responsible for setting and delivering an experience framework on how our customers should be serviced in both digital and digital-human interactions**

+ **Learning constantly. Work deeply with customers, associates, designers, technologists and data scientists to build cutting edge solutions**

+ **Innovating relentlessly. Pushing big change by asking bold questions; starting small, testing, and learning your way to something dramatically better**

+ **Sharing openly. Telling stories that change the way people think about building products and solving problems, and that illustrate the power of what software can do to make them even better**

+ **Connecting creatively. Jumpstarting a self-supporting community by sowing the right seeds, building the right tools, integrating the right off-the-shelf products and just plain elbow grease**

+ **Succeeding strategically. Solving the right problem and holding on the wrong one.**

**Here is what you will bring to the table:**

+ **Curious. You ask why, you explore, you're not afraid to blurt out your crazy idea, or follow an email chain for weeks to find someone with an answer.**

+ **Do-er. You have a bias toward action, you try things, and sometimes you fail. You dug up a hidden feature in an API that let you do something really cool or introduced a new routine that broke down silos led to better decisions.**

+ **Passionate. You care about growing others and bringing them together around what’s possible. You’ve started meetup groups or taught General Assembly courses because you love enabling others.**

+ **Communicator. You can communicate complex ideas clearly, your team knows their priorities and why they’re doing what they’re doing. Maybe you’re an introvert, or maybe you’re an extrovert, but nobody accuses you of keeping them out of the loop.**

+ **Wrangler. You’ve gotten back-end engineers to play nice with iOS developers, you can inspire an ETL developer to write creatively about her latest pipeline.**

+ **Fearless. Big, undefined problems don't frighten you. You can work at a tiny crack until you've broken open the whole nut. You are comfortable saying no.**

**Here is what we will bring to the table:**

+ **Competitive salary and equity (including a robust 401(k) plan)**

+ **Excellent medical and dental insurance (and other health benefits)**

+ **Superstar product, design, data and engineering leaders **

+ **At least 3 years of experience with web and client-side mobile platforms**

+ **At least 2 years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile development process**
